Carrot halwa popularly known as gajarhalwa is a rich sweet. My husband has a sweet tooth and this sweet is one of his favorites.So decided to prepare carrot halwa in this quarantine time.This sweet requires very simple ingredients and it’s a very simple preparation.
Ingredients :
Grated Carrots 4 cups
Ghee 4 to 5 tbsp
Boiled milk 11/2cups
Sugar 3/4cup
Cardamom powdered 1/2 tsp
cashews&almonds&pistachios -1tbsp thinly sliced
Method :
In a pan add 1tbsp of ghee and sauté the grated carrots.
When the carrot is half cooked add the boiled milk
When the carrot is done and milk is completely absorbed start adding ghee
After adding ghee sauté for 5 minutes
Add sugar and keep stirring
Let the moisture get completely absorbed
Add cardamom powder and stir for few more minutes
Now add the sliced nuts as it is or fry the nuts in ghee then add to the halwa
Hot carrot halwa is ready to serve
